Book Review - "The Book Thief"

"The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is the story of a young foster child girl in Nazi Germany. Her real parents had been sought out as communists. The story is narrated by death, and apparently death is an elegant speaker. See World War II through the eyes of death as he follows this extraordinary girl who learns to have both a passion and hate for the magic of words.

If you would like to check out this book, ask your local librarian, who can get it or put it on reserve for you!

Teen Book Review!

Here is the first installment of our Teen Video Book Review program. If you have recorded a book review and would like to see it posted here, please have your parents sign the permission form available at any branch. Below, the book being reviewed is "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keyes. If you think you might like to read this book, ask for it at your library branch!
